Reflections on Promises and Freedom

We're in for a treat coming up in July! I'm not sure if any of you reading these participate in our private Facebook group (check it out here!) but if you DO you'll know what I'm about when I say- this is very exciting!

Sue, our main teacher in that community, has agreed to do a guest blog for us in July!

So be ready to read, learn and comment! I won't tell you when she's writing, you'll just have to keep checking in! ;)

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled devotional..

Many of our community members are in the United States and so I wanted to nod to our country's Independence coming up this week.

This verse is timely because as our nation fought for freedom, the Israelites also fought for freedom in the land God gave them.

It wasn't easy.

It came with conflict.

It likely left some scars.

But in the end, Joshua reminds us of a promise that is just as true today for us: not one of God's promises have ever failed. As we live out God's fulfilled promises and walk in the hope of our future in Him, we find freedom.

Freedom from regret.

Freedom from sin.

Freedom from ourselves.

Freedom to live in Christ's love.

You might be waiting on a promise from two decades ago or 2 years ago. But God is never late. We can take hold of His promises today and walk in our new life of freedom!

Let's keep trusting in the promises of our God, friends! We'd love to hear from you and grow with you this week! Please comment below any verses that have helped you walk in freedom! And as always, if you are apart of our community who joins in and memorizes these verses each week, happy memorizing!
